Expert Exterior Painting in Houston, TX

Houston's climate puts real pressure on exterior paint. High humidity pushes moisture into siding joints and trim. Intense UV rays fade colors on south- and west-facing walls. Afternoon storms and wind-driven rain stress caulk lines and fascia year-round. At Works Remodeling, our exterior painting service covers the full scope: pressure washing, surface repairs, caulking open joints, priming bare or problem areas, and applying finish coats suited for Houston's conditions. We work on wood siding, fiber cement, stucco, brick with painted accents, and trim. Homes in Houston's older neighborhoods often show peeling and chalking from years of moisture cycling. Newer builds with fiber cement siding need proper priming at cut ends and joints to stop water wicking. We address both. If your home sits in one of Houston's 23 historic districts, color choices may require review before work begins. We walk you through that before we start. Call Works Remodeling to schedule a free on-site estimate for your Houston exterior painting project.

Exterior Painting FAQ

Common questions about exterior painting in Houston, TX.

Yes, fading on Houston homes is a sign the coating's UV protection is breaking down and the surface is becoming vulnerable. Waiting until peeling starts usually means more prep work and a higher repair cost.

We paint siding, trim, fascia, soffits, doors, shutters, and stucco on Houston homes. Each surface gets the prep and primer it needs before any finish coat goes on.

If your Houston home sits in one of the city's 23 historic districts, a Certificate of Appropriateness may be required before you change exterior colors. HOA neighborhoods also commonly require color approval from an architectural review committee before painting starts.

Houston's high humidity traps moisture beneath the coating, which leads to bubbling and peeling. Proper surface prep and moisture-resistant primers stop this cycle before the finish coat is applied.

Signs like hairline cracks in caulk joints, chalky residue on the siding, or soft spots in trim boards mean repairs should happen before painting. Works Remodeling inspects these areas during the on-site estimate so nothing gets painted over a problem.

Yes, mildew treatment is part of our prep process for Houston homes before any coating is applied. Skipping that step causes new paint to fail faster, especially on shaded or north-facing walls.

Remodel Works (RW) recently upgraded our bath to a walk-in shower, and they did a very nice job: excellent overall quality, expensive but good value, reasonable time line but a few weeks over on the end date. Would have rated at 4.5, but 5 is fair given our overall satisfaction with the end result. $22K for a fairly small job, but again, the quality of workmanship is what we appreciated most in the end. Structural work done by craftsman was outstanding, never seen better and I've seen a lot. Tile work done by mason was also outstanding with the exception that he had to re-work an oversized cut three times and was not happy about it. Design work was also very good with the exception of missing incompatibility of initially quoted shower door with shower pan - this put us behind on schedule and was the only real "issue" with the project (owner made good on cost impact). Project management also very good with the exception that I had to do a bit more on the ground management than desired. Would definitely recommend; quality of work drives this high rating.

We recently completed a full kitchen remodel with Remodel Works, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. If you are looking for a team that combines design with master-level craftsmanship, we cannot recommend them enough. Our first contact was our designer, John De Luca, who listened to our vision and brought it to life with his ideas for both layout and functionality. He was fantastic to work with and made a huge difference in creating a kitchen that not only looks great but works perfectly. Our project manager, Ryan Terrell, was outstanding. He maintained complete control of the project from the very beginning keeping everyone on task and ensuring that even the smallest details were handle with care. The entire team - including Ben, Ashely, Chris and Tim - was professional, efficient, and consistently made sure we were happy throughout the process. Communication was clear, and we always knew what to expect. Kim and Edwin from Scanco were excellent master craftsmen. Their pride in their work and attention to detail really stood out in the finished project. Marcos did a fantastic job on our backsplash and was accommodating when we made a change along the way. One thing that consistently impressed us was how clean and organized everything was. At the end of each day, the workspace was left tidy and all trash was removed. We were also given a clear schedule from day one, so we always knew what work would be happening and when - and they stuck to it. The project was completed on time. Beyond the quality of the work, we genuinely enjoyed interacting with everyone involved. The team became a part of our daily routine, and now that the project is complete, we actually miss seeing the early morning crew show up to start our day. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen and highly recommend Remodel Works to anyone considering a remodel.

Had such a great team to work with on our whole house remodel: Designer Meghan Whitney, CAD Yvonne C-Fisher, and Project Manager Jeff Aldridge. We are rookie remodelers, and they couldn’t have been more patient with us, trying to understand our wants & needs and giving great input and advice along the way. We would 100% contract with them again.

Our project consisted of a compete gut of an existing kitchen: floors, cabinets, appliances, accessories, electrical, wall removal and some soffit work. In a rather opaque industry full of questionable venders, multitudes of suppliers and contractors, we were not sure how things were going to go. After much due diligence finding a supplier, we chose Remodel Works. It was the best decision we could have made! From our introductory meeting, thru design, construction planning, demo, and rebuild Remodel Works and the subcontractors they employ and coordinate with to complete various specialty tasks were professional, trustworthy and delivered the highest quality workmanship. A small example of this is: not once over a 7 week period, did a single vender or company employee ever miss a scheduled appointment. Every morning work was scheduled they were there at 7:30AM, reviewing that days activities, and commencing work by 8. Never a glitch, start to finish. Again, a small example, but it demonstrated their commitment to our project, and those small things make a big difference. We could go on and on about our experience. All of it good, but won't, other than a shout out to those that made it happen. To John De Luca, our overall designer, Yvonne Fisher - our European cabinet CAD designer, and Ryan Terrel, our project manager. All professionals at what they do, and most appreciated for the pride they take in their respective crafts! And again, ALL their cohort, who they worked with to deliver a wonderful result. In closing one might still wonder about the cost of all this. Too high, competitive, least expensive, the answer is: Remodel Works delivered exactly what we planned, a beautiful kitchen, at the agreed price. No surprises.

Remodel Works recently finished the outstanding renovation of our master bathroom plus 2 guests' bathrooms. Our fabulous designers, John De Luca (CMKBD-Certified Master Kitchen/Bath Designer) and Mary Jennings (CMKBD-Certified Master Kitchen/Bath Designer)were able to translate our ideas of walk-in and handicapped accessible showers into beautiful and functional designs. Mary and John helped us in our selection of stunning tiles, gorgeous custom cabinets, and beautiful bathroom accessories to compliment their designs. Lance, their top engineer, was brought in to see if our extensive redesign of the bathrooms were feasible. His suggestion did slightly alter the design but ensured that there would be no problem later. We were removing a step up into the bathroom and a Roman tub. From Mary's designs and cost analysis, we were given CAD drawings, details of each bathroom, the final cost, materials, and time table of who and when the work would be done. Almost every day 1 to 3 technicians were here working. The many hard working technicians were friendly, answered our questions, did outstanding work, did daily cleanup, and worked overtime if needed to finish their part. Our outstanding project managers Danny N and Chris N handled any problems swiftly, were extremely helpful and available, and visited us often to check on the progress. Mary, our proactive designer, also kept us updated about any changes. In summary our 3 bathrooms which we love were completed in 4 months on time plus 2 weeks extra for an unexpected problem. We would highly recommend Remodel Works with their designers.
